What Made the '80s

This magazine spread focuses on the trends of the 1980s. I was requested to create a spread that mimics an article from the time period, but still looks refreshing to the modern eye. The audience for this would be Gen-X and older millennials who lived through the '80s as a young adult or teen. After looking at magazine articles geared towards '80s teens and young adults, I decided to create a layout that has bright colors, angled pictures, and fun colorful shapes. This is the ideal solution since when someone from the intended audience sees this spread in a magazine, they might stop to read it as it looks quite different than the modern day magazine article.
